Get ready, music lovers! Ichiko Aoba, the enchanting Japanese singer-songwriter, is set to dazzle us in 2025 with her much-anticipated album titled Luminescent Creatures, dropping on February 28. Following her acclaimed record Windswept Adan, released five years ago, Aoba is not only gifting us new music but also embarking on a world tour to share her artistry across the globe.
But that’s not all—she’s just released her captivating lead single, “Lucifèrine,” ready to sweep you off your feet. Dive into this new sound below!
Aoba describes the inspiration behind Luminescent Creatures: “It was born from Windswept Adan. I started wondering what happened after the protagonist disappeared along with the music of the island’s inhabitants. What would remain?” Intriguing, right?
This new album marks Aoba’s first musical venture in five years, during which she has scored films, released live records, and produced two EPs: Windswept Adan Roots (2021) and Sketch (2023). Her creative journey is nothing short of inspiring!
Her world tour kicks off in Hong Kong on February 24, leading her through select cities in Asia, Europe, Canada, and the United States. The final stop is set for May 22 in the vibrant heart of Mexico City. Check out the full list of tour dates below!
