Exciting news for Broadway lovers! The dazzling musical “The Great Gatsby” is about to get even more captivating with the addition of three-time Tony Award nominee Terrence Mann as Meyer Wolfsheim. Mann will grace the stage starting January 8, 2025, for a limited engagement running until April 20 at the Broadway Theatre. He takes over from original cast member Eric Anderson, who will bid farewell on January 5.
Mann isn’t a stranger to the spotlight! He’s known for his unforgettable performances as Rum Tum Tugger in “Cats” and Javert in “Les Misérables,” earning him his first Tony nod. He also snagged nominations for roles in “Beauty and the Beast” and “Pippin.” Most recently, audiences adored him in “Tuck Everlasting.”
Mark your calendars! Mann will step into “The Great Gatsby” just in time for a special gala performance on January 16, 2025, celebrating the centennial of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic novel.
The current cast of “Gatsby” is equally stellar, featuring Jeremy Jordan as Jay Gatsby (through January 19, 2025), Eva Noblezada as Daisy Buchanan, Noah J. Ricketts as Nick Carraway, Samantha Pauly as Jordan Baker, Sara Chase as Myrtle Wilson, John Zdrojeski as Tom Buchanan, and Charlie Pollock as George Wilson. After Jordan’s departure, Ryan McCartan will step into the role starting January 21. The casting is expertly handled by C12 Casting.
The musical’s enchanting score is crafted by Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen, with a compelling book by Kait Kerrigan. Under the direction of Marc Bruni and with choreography by Dominique Kelley, this production promises to be a feast for the senses. It opened to rave reviews on April 25 after previews began on March 29. Notably, Linda Cho won a 2024 Tony Award for her stunning costume design.
